Last Sunday, the V Travel Magazine founder, Brad Bethell, and I had the chance to attend a newish vegan fair in Santa Ana, CA. The Kannabis Works Vegan Fair (IG: @kwveganfair) is one of a kind in Orange County, maybe the whole of California! What makes the KW Vegan Fair unique is the fact that its run by the recreational and medicinal marijuana dispensary, Kannabis Works. So, now, you can get your weed and stoned vegan cravings all in one place!

Although, we encourage you to go into the dispensary and take a look around (21+). Its a beautifully designed cannabis dispensary, with glass cases similar to MedMen, and comfy couches in the lobby while you're waiting to enter. If you happen to find your favorite strain, a topical you're interested in using, or even a tincture, today's your lucky day because you get 20% off, plus $10 - $20 in food vouchers for the vendors outside! So, now you can get your weed, and a free lunch! Now that's dope!
When Brad and I went, there were so many food vendors to choose from, we had a hard time deciding. Before I talk about the ones we decided on, I'll list all the other ones who were there:
Now, for the ones we decided to try:
This place creates the epitome of vegan "stoner" food. All of their menu items are cheezy, satiating, and push the envelope. They even have a "Donut Burger," fully made with vegan burger patty, 2 slices of vegan cheese, and a hash brown, sandwiched in between a freshly made vegan frosted & sprinkled doughnut! If that isn't dank, I don't know what is.
What We Got:
We tried to just get one thing from each place we tried, so at Munchies OC we got their delicious Bacon, Egg, VcMuffin. It's just what you think, but better! This breakfast sandwich is layered with: vegan bacon (you can also choose sausage), melted American cheese, Fried Egg, hash brown, and ketchup. And is, of course, in between a toasted-to-perfection English muffin. Talk about yum!
Jade's Vegan Sushi has all the favorites of sushi connoisseurs from any background! They have veggie tempura, vegan tuna, and even a vegan shrimp roll. You can get crunchy rolls, California rolls with vegan crab meat, even traditional sushi (but vegan!). They take vegan sushi to the next level with their delicious sauces, high quality ingredients, and healthy vegan alternatives to traditional sushi recipes.
What We Got:
Since Kannabis Works gives you $20 in FREE food for spending $100 in their dispensary, I decided to get some things I had been needing. I bought a few CBD tinctures, and ended up spending just over a hundred. We decided to use most of the food vouchers on the deliciousness you see to the right! This was the 'Heart Attack Roll,' which was a good name for it. The 'Heart Attack Roll' is deep fried to perfection, filled with tofu, cucumber, avocado, vegan cream cheese, and carrot 'crab' meat! Then, its smothered in vegan sauces, and topped off with popcorn 'shrimp', fried tofu, plus black and white sesame seeds. Its $18, and the wait is typically very long (longer than 30 minutes), but it is totally worth the wait and the money. Why not splurge this one time?

In the mood for something healthy? We were, after having all that vegan junk food! UNBELIEVA-BOWL is the perfect remedy! All of their bases are blended with acai, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, mango, and coconut water. It is then topped with gluten-free & vegan granola, fruit toppings of your choice, agave, coconut condensed milk, and coconut flakes. Pictured (left) is the small, but you can also get a Medium, Large, and even a Watermelon bowl!
What We Got:
We decided to order the small Original Bowl. It comes topped with coconut, granola, fresh blueberries, and sliced banana! Its perfect for the hot days that Southern California has all year long, and a healthy snack for mid day. If you take too big of a bite, it might give you brain freeze, just like ice cream, so take it slow and enjoy every bite.
If you are in Santa Ana, CA, definitely check out the Kannabis Works Vegan Fair this Sunday (or any Sunday!). For updates on when and where the fair is, check their Instagram here!
